The RAT

We have a FAT, GIANT and NOISY rat living in our roof.  We're not sure how long it's been living
there but it's definitely been there since we moved in in June.

A couple of weeks ago we threw some poison up, we heard it running around and then all of a sudden there was hectic thundering on the ceiling, as though it was having a fit. We assumed it had the poison and was almost certain this would kill it. Oh, how we were wrong! A few nights later and we heard the rustling of Mr Rat running around.

Yesterday,  we decided to give Mr Rat round two of poison. We heard nothing at first and then at 3am this morning David and both get woken up by some intense squealing coming from the ceiling. It was pretty frightening... but hopefully that is the last we have heard of Mr Rat.

Our Wedding Day

On 14 June 2014 I married my best friend.... It was a day filled with TONS of laughter, love and Jesus. My favourite part was the ceremony, with everything else coming very close behind in top 10 experiences.. Instead of blogging a long story I though I would post some pictures of our wonderful day.

I doubt I'll EVER buy a second hand car again

My little smurf car is broken.. broken.. broken.

Before our wedding it was due for a service, but I thought that I would push it until after the wedding. It also started to feel a little funny while I drove it, but I kind of ignored that because I didn't want to know if there was something SUPER wrong with my car.

David took Smurf to the mechanic today and we discovered that all of the following was wrong;
bearings, steering rack and the wheel alignment was  "broken". These were the major issues, the minor ones are; tyres, CV joints and callipers are also "broken". We're getting the major stuff fixed and the "minor" stuff fixed later when it goes for a proper service... And all I thought was that I needed new windscreen wipers.

The frustrating part of all of this is that I bought the car from a reputable dealer last year and it has literally just given  me problems since day one. There's been quite a bit wrong with the car and things the sales guy lied about to me regarding the car when we asked about it. Once thing I will admit is I made a mistake with this car, and I've learnt to NEVER buy a second hand car EVER again from someone or company.

On a positive note.. I think God has given me some super awesome angels to protect me while I was driving.. I don't know how I haven't managed to crash with so much wrong with Smurf.

The wrong bus...

On Monday Istarted taking the MyCiti bus to work. The first day went well, but day two kind of went pair shaped...

Firstly in the morning the bus I wanted to take never arrived so I had to take the later one. It was then a mad dash from bus one to bus two in Camps Bay when I changed buses, but I made it to work on time. I could consider this trip successful but then going home I was little silly and I took the 106 to Camps bay, which took FOREVER to get to Camps Bay. When it arrived I RAN to the stop only to jump on the bus that was there without looking at the bus number. I discovered at the first stop I was on the wrong bus. I jumped off and ran like a loon back to the Camps Bay stop. While I was running towards the station I saw that the 109, (the bus I need to catch was at the station). I was like, "Nooooooo" and started running faster and waving at the driver, who thankfully waited for me to arrive there.

Day three has gone well so far... except that I was at work super early, (7:15am) because I took the earlier bus. I used the time to chat to Olivia about random stuff.. oh and to get some hot chocolate from Vida.

Tomorrow, Noo and I are going to have to get our timing a bit better so I get the bus I should take so I don't arrive at work to early.

That moment...

David and I have been married for just over two weeks now and I just had that moment of "YAY - we're REALLY married."

I was sitting at my desk thinking about home time, taking the bus and how we're going to fetch our photo's and then go and buy some things for our housie. I then got really excited to be doing ALL of these things with David and then it really hit me, that we are actually really married and it hasn't been a big dream.

The past two weeks have been super awesome, as we travelled around the western cape on honeymoon but now that we've started doing every day life together I'm filled with a round of new excitement.

EEEEEEKKKKK! So Excited!
